I never got around to doing a little 2024 recap post, and I'm not sure I even will anymore since it feels like it's a little late for it, but I promised I'd do another one of these artist features in January, and so we're gonna do one of those again instead. Let's get started!
@Elle-B-Ozo is still pretty new here and I just found them today, but there's a stunning, and sometimes truly awe inspiring level of detail to their work. Their hatching and anatomy are seriously top shelf.
@GoblinKingArt's stuff is delightfully twisted; there's a ton of banger character design work in their gallery, but I also just love all the weird little patterns and textures they do. Still, their monsters are where they really shine. Love them so much.
It's essentially an unwritten rule at this point that I need to feature at least one Y2K artist in all of these, and @marimaru is that artist this time around. There's just something so charming and timeless in those punchy colors and clean, thick linework.
@ufoinvader's style is something I want to describe as "ghostly"; there's something spooky and evocative lurking beneath those wispy, smoke-like brushstrokes and earthy color palettes. I'm a big fan of whenever they take things in a more surreal sort of direction.
I always love NG's Secret Santa event in part because it exposes me to so many new artists that weren't on my radar prior to the event, and @BaronKexana is one of those folks for me this year. Their work is playful and carefree, but there's a surprising amount of detail to it. It also took me quite a while to realize that it's actually all pixel art too! You don't really see much pixel art that looks anything like this.
And I think that's all I've got for this time! I MIGHT be able to do another one of these next month, but otherwise it'll probably go back to being a bi-monthly thing. I always enjoy doing them though :)
