I probably should have done an update post at least a week ago, but I’ve been wrapped up in my own little world for a while here. I think we’re really starting to get settled in here in The Netherlands though!
So uh, first things first, some pictures of the area?
The first day here was admittedly pretty rough and at the end of the day I wasn’t sure if I could make this transition, but each day after that got a little easier as I’d walk around and explore a bit more. It’s so much quieter here than it ever was back in Minneapolis. It’s so refreshing to go a full day (full weeks now even) without ever having to hear car alarms, gunshots, or people screaming at each other in the middle of the night all the time!
That said, it can still be a bit lonely too. I mentioned before that @Peti has been a big help in making this giant leap out here though. I met up with him on the first day where he took my suitcases and showed me around before I completely crashed out later and that afternoon. (There’s a 7 hour time difference between here and home, and the plane I took on Easter landed here at 10 am the next morning, so my “first day” was essentially 40 hours)
Anyway, I stayed initially at a hostel, which I was kind of excited for because I assumed I’d have some roomies to get to know, but in my 10 days that I was there, I only got a roommate about an hour before I actually left. So that was kinda weird. In some ways it was nice to have the room all to myself though. It was a whole lot cheaper than a hotel anyway, even if it was just a bunk bed.
Still, I couldn’t really work on any art while I was staying here, since I didn’t have my tablet or even a pencil and paper. So I started looking for a more permanent place to live in all my downtime, and by some miracle, I found one in just a day! I signed the lease and moved in just a few days later.
And that’s where I’m at now! (The view from my office window)
It’s not perfect, but it’s a cute little place and it’s enough for me to work. I moved here on the 1st of the month, and I’ve just been keeping myself busy working on my game, which is progressing slowly, but steadily. Lately I’ve just been adding more animations to liven things up a bit.
So that’s the plan right now! I’m still kind of making things up as I go, but I think we can make this work. I still really wanna get a bike! It’s so much easier to get around without a car here.
Until next time though!
(I was also going to announce an event for the summer here, but I think it may have to get postponed til next year just because I’m still getting my footing)
(I’ll try to do another underrated artists post later this month though! I think that’s something I can manage)

Moving to a new place will take time to settle in but looking at the scenery, it should be relaxing once you get used to the place. Best of luck :)
